I have a very old computer, built in 2006, using an Asus P5RD1-VM motherboard and an Intel 2.8GHz processor. This system was built before Windows 7 was released, so the default driver for the P5RD1-VM motherboard is no longer compatible.
After searching the internet and visiting a few forums, I finally found the necessary drivers to install Windows 7 on my old computer. Here are the updated drivers for the P5RD1-VM motherboard:
Graphics Driver: The P5RD1-VM has an integrated graphics card based on the ATI Radeon X300. You can download the driver here.
Sound Card Driver: The P5RD1-VM has an integrated sound card, the SoundMAX from Analog Devices. You can download the sound card driver here.
SATA Driver: The P5RD1-VM uses the ULi SATA M5287 controller. You can download the SATA driver here.
Ethernet Driver: The P5RD1-VM uses the ULi M526X Ethernet Controller. You can download the ULi LAN driver here.
It’s worth noting that the graphics driver used is the one designed for Windows Vista, but it works well with Windows 7. In fact, I was able to enable Windows Aero successfully with this setup.
